SUMMER IN LOUGHINSHOLIN AND EXPERIENCE THE GIANT HEART OF MID ULSTER  

The Loughinsholin Tourism Cluster Mid Ulster, located in the giant heart of Mid Ulster, has launched Summer in Louginsholin, a series of unique experiences and special offers showcasing the region. From literature events, historic walks, culinary experiences, heritage and boat tours, stories and great hospitality – Loughinsholin has it all this summer.

Seamus Heaney HomePlace and Taphouse in Bellaghy, along with River Bann Tours in Toome have come together for a Literature, Lough and Local Flavours Tour. Explore the Seamus Heaney HomePlace Exhibition, a self-guided tour of Open Ground – 5  locations liked to the poet, a 45 minute journey on the River Bann taking in the Toome Canal, Lower River Bann to Lough Beg and Church Island.  Then, enjoy a three course meal at Taphouse and experience the world famous eels supplied by Lough Neagh Fishermen’s Cooperative.

Discover a unique culinary experience with Bakehouse NI and immerse yourself in the art of cooking, baking, and foraging through an array of charming and inspired classes.  An authentic and unforgettable experience that celebrates the rich culinary heritage and natural beauty of the region. Embrace the spirit of summer, connect with nature, and enrich your culinary skills in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Enjoy classes from bread baking, afternoon tea making in a whimsical Gypsy Caravan, traybakes, cake decorating or foraging and baking with wild garlic.

Join expert tour guide Cathy O’Neill who will help you walk in the footsteps of Irish migrants who left famine stricken Ireland to seek new lives in the new world.
