Lough Neagh’s Stories offers experiential history and heritage trips on and around Lough Neagh – by boat and land. Owned and managed by the passionate and hard working Gary and Anne-Marie who specialise in providing insightful tours which showcase:
- Lough Neagh’s commercial fishing heritage, its characterful people and its quality produce during their “Embrace a Giant Spirit” Experience: The Lough Neagh Fishing Story
- Both Lough Neagh and Beg as literary landscapes in their “A Lough Neagh Sequel Literary Tour” which explores the surrounding which inspired Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney to write “A Lough Neagh Sequence” in 1969.
- The spiritual and Christian history and heritage of Loughs Neagh and Beg which explores the ruins of a thirteenth century Cranfield Church, and the long famed and revered Holy Well of St. Olcan.
Lough Neagh is a vast, unmistakable feature on any map, and a geographical and ecological heart of the north. Yet, despite its prominence, the rich stories, history, and inhabitants—both human and natural—of Lough Neagh have often gone unnoticed, uncelebrated, and underappreciated. Lough Neagh Stories aims to change that.
