Located near Bellaghy in the heart of Mid-Ulster, Bakehouse NI is convenient to travel to from all major airports and cities in Northern Ireland and approximately 2.5 hours drive from Dublin.
Bakehouse NI provides a wonderful, homely food experience for all the senses.
The experience begins with arriving at Bronagh’s Home kitchen cookery school and being warmly welcomed with a cuppa, often with a turf fire burning in the kitchen and the aroma of baking.
The kitchen design is warm, rustic and bright and is a feast for the eyes.
The fun starts with the selection of ingredients, local and seasonal where possible. Such as homegrown vegetables from the Bakehouse kitchen garden or foraging for seasonal ingredients.
Then they are transformed, using Bronagh’s favourite family recipes.
This could be a delicious sloe gin, a wild garlic soda bread, potato bread, cottage pie, Granny’s vegetable broth, an elderflower or rhubarb cake to name a few favourites.
All recipes are easy for clients to re-make again for their own family and friends, so recipes are kept simple without complicated ingredients.
Clients will have the opportunity to enjoy what they have created as part of afternoon tea, lunch or dinner.
Classes and experiences involve baking, cooking and foraging. Experiences, can be also be bespoke to focus on a skill, recipe or ingredients.
The classes and experiences are suitable for groups up to 10 people though it is possible to offer demos for larger groups on special request.
